ruminations

Every time I think I have this marriage thing figured out, it gets better. And I know that’s what they say happens, but I still didn’t quite believe it.

I’m learning to appreciate the small things, like the way he rubs my feet when I’m tired, or washes the dishes while I’m in the other room editing video clips for church. Today he had some time off from work, and he spent at least part of it matching socks (a task I absolutely hate and avoid by dumping all clean socks in a laundry basket, thus necessitating a mad scrabble every morning as he dresses) and met me for lunch.

I’ve been tired and stressed–too many projects–for a couple of weeks now, and he’s been lovely about cooking pancakes for his dinner every night.

I think I rather like this matrimonial thing.
