really struck me this morning

To live a remote, retired, secluded life is the antipodes of spirituality as Jesus Christ taught it. – Oswald Chambers

I’m afraid I’m guilty of this. Lately it’s easier to go hide in Mr. Man’s office, reading a book, instead of staying in the church lobby talking to people. What happened? I didn’t used to be that way. Maybe it seems that when I do open up and spend time with people, I end up getting burned…maybe I feel I just can’t win.

But that doesn’t matter, because Christianity isn’t about “winning” at all. It’s about becoming broken bread and poured out wine, about being used up, to the very last drop, for others. I haven’t been doing that, and I feel so very, very small.
