rather concerned

Is it just me or is this sentence rather alarming?

The 1967 Abortion Act allows for later termination if two doctors decide a child would be seriously handicapped.

They aren’t even bothering to refer to said “lump of tissue” as a “fetus.” (Well, over there it would be “foetus.”) In a major media outlet the mainstream media is calmly referring to terminating a child. A CHILD. I’m sorry, children are not terminated; they are killed. Because a child is a tiny little bundle of potential, of personality. You can’t just “terminate” that.

  1. Oh, that just pisses me off. That is wrong on SO many different levels!

  2. Did you read the story about the woman who aborted her baby after 24 weeks because it had cleft palate? Appalling.

  3. Yes, I saw that one too. My daughter is doing a paper for school on another aspect of ‘man as God’; cloning. It would appear that we either do away with our handicapped children for whatever reason before birth, -or- we just create that ‘perfect’ child by cloning them from, who, ourselves? England at least has banned human cloning. I am not sure, has the US done so also?
